Islip's new comprehensive plan must be just and reflect the needs of our communities.

Islip Forward is providing comments to help ensure this happens.

The Town of Islip is embarking on TOI-360, a comprehensive plan designed to guide our community's growth and development over the next 20 years and beyond. This initiative addresses critical areas such as land use, housing, transportation, economic development, environmental sustainability, and quality of life.

Why is this plan important?

Since our last comprehensive plan in 1979, our town has experienced significant changes. TOI-360 provides a clear vision for Islip's future, offering a framework for decision-making that ensures our community's needs and aspirations guide all policies and actions by the local government. By addressing issues like sprawl and congestion, the plan promotes coordinated development and informed infrastructure investment, enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

Why do we need your voice?

Our town is home to over 330,000 residents across multiple hamlets, each with its unique character and needs. Engaging a wide range of voices is critical to understanding the diverse priorities across different communities. Your input ensures that the plan reflects the collective vision of our residents, fostering collaboration and building consensus among stakeholders. Public participation is vital in shaping a plan that truly represents the aspirations of our community.
