Why did we make this tool?

The ICE tracker is a powerful tool for ensuring transparency and accountability in enforcement actions.

Many recent immigration enforcement actions have raised significant concerns about their impact on our Constitution, values, and the families that make up our communities. To make matters even worse, ICE has even detained US citizens unjustly in their enforcement efforts.

The executive order to end birthright citizenship, a fundamental right guaranteed by the 14th Amendment, was swiftly deemed "blatantly unconstitutional" by a federal district court. Additionally, decisions to shut down the CBP One app—canceling tens of thousands of asylum appointments—and to suspend refugee resettlement programs have been criticized as cruel and destructive. These actions block legal immigration pathways, leaving refugees fleeing war, persecution, and violence stranded, including over 1,600 Afghans who risked their lives to assist the U.S. war effort, as well as relatives of active-duty U.S. military personnel.

Furthermore, the abandonment of long-standing policies of restraint by allowing ICE raids on churches and schools—historically respected as sanctuaries—has spread fear among immigrants and their families. Many of these individuals have lived in this country for years, contributed to our communities, paid taxes, and committed no crimes. These ICE raids have already resulted in innocent people being detained, such as a U.S. citizen and military veteran in Newark, New Jersey.

It is crucial to support public safety by removing violent, dangerous criminals from our communities. However, targeting those who have followed proper legal processes, raiding places of worship and learning, sweeping up law-abiding residents, and failing to offer a pathway to citizenship do not enhance safety. These measures only serve to divide us, destabilize families, and harm our community's trust in the rule of law.

We urge a refocus on priorities that truly matter: creating safer communities, lowering costs, and fostering job growth. Divisive and unconstitutional actions are a distraction from these goals and a betrayal of public trust.

To those feeling fear and uncertainty, know that there is support for your families, rights, and future. Together, we can work to ensure that America remains a nation of opportunity, compassion, and justice for all.
