ICE Agents Target Brentwood, Central Islip, and North Bay Shore in Early-Morning Raids

Islip, NY — Yesterday morning, Sunday, April 6, Islip Forward received numerous verified community reports of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity across Central Islip, Brentwood, and North Bay Shore. ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents were seen wearing vests and badges, approaching homes unannounced, and executing targeted enforcement actions that spread fear across immigrant communities.
These actions were not random. The pattern of sightings and home visits paints a clear picture: ICE deliberately zeroed in on neighborhoods with high immigrant populations—communities that have long been overpoliced, underserved, and unjustly scrutinized.
“This is what systemic injustice looks like—federal agents patrolling our neighborhoods and tearing families apart before sunrise,” said Ahmad Perez, Executive Director of Islip Forward. “What happened this morning wasn’t about safety—it was about fear. Our community has the right to live without the constant threat of ICE at our doorsteps. We are not criminals. We are not targets. We are human beings, and we deserve to be treated as such.”
According to local residents, agents made their presence known through intimidation and confusion, with some approaching homes as early as 9 a.m. The emotional toll of these raids continues to ripple throughout the community.
The events that unfolded on April 6 are a true reflection of injustice and oppression. In the land made up of immigrants, we had ICE agents raiding homes, patrolling our neighborhoods, and challenging our strength. All of this is not a testament of this nation’s greatness, but rather this nations’ shortcomings toward our strongest patriots: our immigrants," said Chris Hidalgo, Central Islip Votes Director at Islip Forward. And in the times of hardship, I beg the communities to look out for your brothers and sisters, to be aware of your rights, and be aware of what’s happening. Together, our communities will not fail to exist and together, we will not stop moving forward.
Our communities are not battlegrounds. Our homes are not hunting grounds. Islip Forward calls on local, state, and federal leaders to denounce these actions and protect immigrant families from the trauma of militarized enforcement.
